About Computerworks

My name is Mario Yiannakou, and I have been passionate about computers and technology since the mid-1980s. With nearly 40 years of hands-on IT experience behind me, I founded Computerworks in 2010 to provide honest, reliable computer repair for home users and small businesses across Wimbledon and South West London.

My career in IT began in 1985 as a programmer, before moving into hands-on PC repair and technical support. Over the years I have worked as a Desktop Support Engineer, co-founded and ran a successful computer repair business in London, and provided senior IT support to international organisations in the City of London. That breadth of experience — from soldering logic boards to managing enterprise networks — means I can tackle almost any problem that lands on my workbench.

I specialise in Windows PC, laptop, and Apple MacBook repair, including hardware diagnostics, SSD and RAM upgrades, data recovery, macOS and Windows troubleshooting, networking, and microelectronics repair. I am also proficient in micro-soldering and board-level diagnostics — a level of repair that most high street shops simply cannot offer.

When you contact Computerworks, you deal directly with me from the first enquiry through to the completed repair. There are no call centres, no middlemen, and no unnecessary upselling — just straightforward, experienced help from someone who genuinely loves what they do.

I hold a BTEC Higher National Certificate in Engineering and a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies, and I have been continuously developing my skills throughout my career, including staying current with modern tools and technologies.

Outside of work I enjoy songwriting, playing acoustic guitar, country walks, and keeping up with the latest developments in technology and health science.
